Covid-19

Moulsecoomb Forest Garden will remain open on Tuesdays and Fridays between 10am and 3pm until advised otherwise.

If this changes we will put messages on social media,, please see @mfgwp on Twitter and Facebook.

Here is the link to the Government’s advice – it’s important to keep up to date with the latest guidance.

The most important thing is to keep people safe and well, so we have put in place a few additional measures.

  • If you are feeling unwell, or have been in contact with anyone who is unwell please don’t come along
  • If you do volunteer please bring your own gloves, hand sanitiser and your own cup. We will have disposable paper cups available for drinks, and handwash will be available for everyone.

If schools and colleges do close, we will lose a significant proportion of our income. After some painful restructuring last year we have built up some reserves and cut costs accordingly but we want to make sure we can pay our staff and sessional workers – especially if we are able to come in and maintain our community garden. If you haven’t already done so, please consider becoming a Friend of the Forest Garden and support our work financially – it really does make a difference.

We know the Forest Garden, like the Bevy is a lifeline for many vulnerable and isolated people in the local area and we will continue to liaise with the large number of local organisations we work with to find safe ways to support those people and to keep in touch, to make sure they have what they need, especially if people are forced to self-isolate.

Let’s stick together and look out for each other in the weeks ahead.
